These Greek Lamb Meatballs (Keftedes) are a prep-ahead, oven-finished Greek recipe made with ground lamb, pork, and beef, then topped with lemon, dill, and crumbled feta. Each bite is juicy, herby, and perfectly seasoned with oregano and mint for that signature Mediterranean flavor.
Mince the garlic and whisk the eggs. Shred the onions and bell peppers, then drain them thoroughly in a colander or by squeezing out all the juice using a mesh bag.
In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, ground pork, ground lamb, whisked eggs, milk, panko bread crumbs, minced garlic, shredded green pepper, shredded onion (drained), ¾ cup of chopped parsley, dried oregano, dried mint, salt, and pepper.
Shape the mixture into meatballs, slightly larger than golf balls. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours to help them firm up.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Sear the meatballs in batches in a skillet with olive oil until browned on all sides. Transfer the browned meatballs to a baking dish.
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
Microwave the butter until melted and mix it with the juice of half a lemon. Lightly brush this mixture over the meatballs.
Top the meatballs with fresh dill and crumbled feta cheese. Serve them warm with tzatziki sauce for dipping.
