October has been another eventful month for our blog, filled with challenges and progress. Despite some hiccups, we have managed to push forward with significant steps that will benefit our growth in the long run.

Weathering the Storms
Facing the challenges of hurricane season in Florida is a constant reminder of the need for preparedness and adaptability. This month, we had to evacuate AGAIN due to Hurricane Milton, resulting in a full week away from work. Thankfully, we safely returned home without any damage, unlike many of our friends in the community.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who were impacted, and we are grateful for the support we received from others.
Accomplishments in October
Despite the disruption, we achieved a few key milestones:
- Scheduled Our First SEO Audit: We took an essential step by reserving our first SEO audit in February 2025. We're looking forward to gaining valuable insights from the leading industry expert at Mediawyse. Blogging is not for the faint of heart and this feedback will help us identify areas for growth and better optimization.
Pinterest Traffic Success
Pinterest continues to be a steady source of traffic for our blog. Even during the week away from work, our pins performed consistently, contributing significantly to our overall traffic.

Looking Ahead
As we move into November, we anticipate the busy holiday season, which is typically a high-traffic period for food blogs. Our goals include:
- Implementing SEO Audit Findings: Although our audit is not scheduled until February, we will receive a long to-do list from Casey Markee in advance. With our full-time work schedules, this will most likely take several months to accomplish.
- Posting New Holiday Recipes: We’re excited to share festive recipes that our readers can bring to their holiday celebrations.
- Expanding Pinterest Strategy: Continuing to schedule and pin regularly to drive even more traffic.
- Meeting with a Tax Accountant: We want to make sure we're on track with our financial planning and tax obligations.
