How to Make the Best Nutella Toast

STEP ONE: Toast the Bread

Toast the bread until golden and crisp. A toaster works great, but the oven is fine if you are making several slices at once.

STEP TWO: Add the Nutella

Spread a generous layer of Nutella over the warm toast so it melts slightly and coats the surface evenly.

STEP THREE: Add the Strawberries

Wash and slice the strawberries, then layer them over the Nutella. Keep them in a single layer so every bite gets some fruit.

STEP FOUR: Finish with Toppings

Sprinkle oats, chia seeds, and granola over the top, pressing gently so they stick. Add a light drizzle of Nutella if desired.

Storage

Nutella Toast with strawberries, oats, chia seeds, and granola is best enjoyed fresh. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one day. However, note that the bread may lose some of its crispness.

Nutella Toast Recipe FAQs

Can I use other fruits instead of strawberries in this recipe?

Yes! While strawberries are a delicious choice for topping your Nutella and Toast, you can easily substitute them with other fruits. Consider using sliced bananas, blueberries, raspberries, or even a combination of your favorite fruits. Choose fruits that pair well with the rich chocolate-hazelnut flavor of Nutella.

What is the best type of bread to use for Nutella and Toast?

The best type of bread for Nutella and Toast depends on personal preference. You can use a variety of bread options to suit your taste and dietary needs. If you prefer a classic option, choose a fresh baguette, an English muffin, or a slice of soft brioche. For a healthier twist, whole wheat bread or whole grain bread will work well.

How can I make the Nutella and Toast sweeter without adding additional toppings?

Try choosing a sweeter bread variety, such as a sweet brioche, or a bread with added sweetness like cinnamon swirl bread. Alternatively, you can sprinkle a light dusting of powdered sugar over the finished Nutella and Toast.
